Software products designed, published and maintained in-house
Alongside client projects, we develop our own software. These products are specified, built, released and supported entirely by us, which means we control the direction they take and the standard they are maintained to.
01 — Overview
How our product work is organised
Proprietary software developed on our own initiative rather than to a single client’s brief.
A client project answers one organisation’s requirements. A product has to answer a recurring requirement well enough that a range of organisations and individuals can adopt it without modification. We treat those as different disciplines, and our product work is run separately from client delivery so that neither is scheduled at the expense of the other.
Each product begins as an internal proposal: the problem it addresses, who has that problem, what already exists, and why building something is justified. Proposals that go forward are prototyped, tested with real material rather than sample data, and released only once the core function is dependable. We would rather publish a narrow product that works than a broad one that mostly works.
Once released, a product enters continuous maintenance. It receives corrective releases, dependency and security updates, and periodic feature development informed by how it is actually being used. Products are retained on that footing for as long as they are in service, and we tell users in advance if that is ever going to change.

Our product development concentrates on four related areas. They share a common aim: handling the routine administrative load of work and daily activity so that attention is available for everything else.

03 — Standards
The commitments we apply to every release
These principles apply across the portfolio and are the basis on which we decide whether a product is ready to publish.
Designed for two audiences
Each product is assessed against both an organisational context, where accounts and permissions matter, and individual use, where quick setup matters more.
Maintained on a release cycle
Products receive scheduled maintenance releases covering corrections, dependency updates and security patches, separate from feature work.
Data belongs to the user
Export is a standard function, not a concession. Users can take their information out in an open format at any time.
Accessibility considered from the start
Keyboard operation, readable contrast, sensible focus order and screen-reader labelling are part of the build, not a later remediation.
Documented behaviour
Each product is released with written documentation of what it does and how it is configured, kept current with the software itself.
Feedback drives the roadmap
Reported issues and requests from people using a product are logged, reviewed and prioritised against planned development.

Our published catalogue changes over time, so we confirm current availability directly.
Rather than list products here that may be superseded, added to or withdrawn, we prefer to respond to enquiries with accurate information at the time of asking. If you would like to know what is currently available, what stage a product is at, or whether something in our portfolio suits a particular requirement, please contact us and we will set out the present position.
We are also open to discussing licensing arrangements for organisations that want one of our products deployed within their own environment, and to adapting an existing product where a client requirement sits close to what it already does.
